COTTAGE ROMANTIC

Set along the shores of the Great Lakes, this quirky house and coach house had, over the course of many years, been altered multiple times. As we found the details of the home to be at once peculiar and enchanting, we set out on a journey to fully renovate and update the home, paying particular attention to the kitchen, the rear porch, and several other spaces that had undergone somewhat odd additions.

On the upper level of the home, we took two-step-down sleeping spaces that were attached to two of the bedrooms and converted them into sitting rooms, complete with miniature fireplaces made of natural stone. Porches were fully renovated and modernized with dropdown screens and windshields, and a stone wall and fireplace were added to an exterior space, thereby creating an outdoor room for cooking and gathering.
